The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, also known as the La Boqueria, is a large public market in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and one of the city’s famous tourist landmarks. The entrance is along La Rambla, not far from the Liceu, Barcelona’s opera house. The market, which opens Monday through Saturday from 0800 to 2030 hours, sells everything from fruits to meat and vegetables to seafood. It is a delight to take in the sights, sounds and smells as locals would be shopping while the tourists would be snapping away. It’s a must-visit if you are at La Rambla. The nearest Metro is Liceu on Green Line L3.
